ShilakowskyArts
presents: Fiddlers' Fugue, completed for a composition competition, this piece was recorded in a studio on the South Shore of Boston, then digitally remastered along with the Messaien and Ysaye pieces which can be heard on the Recital tape available at Recordings. (1979-81). The theme is based on that of the Duettino for two violins by Shilakowsky, written more than twenty years before this piece was conceived. Dreamy, slightly dissonant. Not a strict fugue, bluesy modality clashes with modernity. listen to a clip and order an mp3 download to listen to by clicking here sheet
