We begin our season with the return of the hugely popular program Opera’s Greatest Moments.

We’re going to the next level by partnering with one of the country’s finest opera companies, Boston Lyric Opera, and presenting four of their most talented rising stars. They’ll sing the greatest arias ever written by the masters, including Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, and more.

As an added treat, we’ll also feature some of the greatest opera choruses. If you love opera, you’ll be in heaven. If you’re new to opera, this program will be the perfect first taste!

Philip Glass: Recital and Moderated Discussion

Join us for an intimate evening with Maestro Philip Glass as we celebrate his 80th birthday and his career in music. The evening will commence by a performance of the "Tirol Concerto", featuring our music director Paul Van Anglen on piano accompanied by the Newport Contemporary Arts Orchestra, followed by a moderated discussion with Mr. Glass, with intermitant pauses where the composer will approach the piano to perform several of his compositions.

Opening Night Concert: Soarin'

To celebrate the Opening Night concert of our inaugural season, Sir Andre Previn will be joining us for the world premiere of "Almost an Overture", a piece written especially for our newly formed Newport Contemporary Arts Orchestra, followed by the American premiere of French composer Gerard Pesson's "Future is a Faded Song", featuring renowned pianist Melaine Dalibert. We welcome you to join us for an evening of new works, as well as some contemporary classics!
